Why This Easy Pineapple Dump Cake Recipe Works
QUICK & EASY: Hands down, this is one of the easiest desserts you will ever come across. You only need a few simple ingredients to make this dump cake, and in less than an hour, you have a warm fruit cake! Best of all, prep takes just 5 minutes!
FAMILY FAVORITE: The entire family will love this sweet treat. Especially if you add a scoop of ice cream or cool whip.
Ingredients
Please check the recipe card below for a detailed, printable ingredient list.
PINEAPPLE - I like different textures. That's why I like to grab a can of Pineapple Tidbits and a can of Pineapple Chunks. But you can use Pineapple Tidbits only or Pineapple Chunks only. For a different experience, you can also use crushed Pineapple.
And, of course, you can always use fresh pineapple and frozen ones too. But for this recipe, canned fruit works just fine.
CAKE MIX - I used a yellow cake mix, but you can use a white cake mix, or if you want to go down a fruity route, look for pineapple cake mix or lemon cake mix.
BROWN SUGAR - Adds a bit of crunchy sweetness.
BUTTER - As always, I recommend unsalted butter for baking. But use what you have on hand.

Serving Ideas
One of my favorite ways of enjoying most dump cakes is with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Especially when the dump cake is freshly baked and still a little warm.
And, of course, a dollop of whipped cream always goes a long way.
Leftovers
STORE - Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and store in the fridge for up to 5 days. Alternatively, you can transfer any leftovers into an airtight container and store the container in the refrigerator.
FREEZE - Yes, you can freeze a Pineapple Dump Cake. There are two methods I recommend. In each case, you can freeze the Pineapple Dump Cake for up to 3 months.
Method 1 - Paper Plate Method: Plate individual portions of the cake onto paper (or plastic plates) and wrap those with plastic wrap and/or aluminum foil.
Method 2 - Mini Mason Jars: I love this method because it's more sustainable than the first. Mason jars are great for freezing because, if intact, they will provide an airtight seal.
The easiest method to reheat a dump cake is to pop a slice in the microwave. But if you have a larger batch, you can set your oven to 300º Fahrenheit and gently warm it for 10 minutes.
