Ingredient Notes
Please check the recipe card below for a detailed, printable ingredient list.
DINNER ROLLS - We prefer soft Hawaiian sweet rolls because they have a unique sweet flavor and soft texture, making them a versatile choice for sliders and sandwiches.
CHICKEN – about 16 ounces or 1 whole rotisserie chicken. I like rotisserie chicken because the chicken is always tender, and it saves time because it's already cooked!
HOT SAUCE – I used Primal Kitchen’s original buffalo wing sauce. It’s one of my favorite brands of buffalo sauce! It has a great flavor, a thick consistency, and cleaner ingredients, and it is mild enough for those who are sensitive to spiciness.
RANCH DRESSING – I love adding ranch for a little creaminess and extra flavor. You can also use blue cheese dressing!
MOZZARELLA - Grated – cheese is an essential ingredient for all sliders! I also love using cheddar for these sliders. If you don't like Mozzarella Cheese, you can also experiment with Cheddar Cheese or even Monterey Jack cheese.
BLUE CHEESE – I am a huge fan of blue cheese! Blue Cheese and Buffalo dressing is one of my all-time favorite combos. However, I understand not everyone shares my love for blue cheese, and these sliders are still delicious without it!
BUTTER - I recommend unsalted butter. The butter helps make the tops nice and crispy!
GARLIC - minced – I love adding a little garlic because it makes the tops taste like garlic bread. Along with all the other delicious components of this recipe, this is the cherry on top.
PARSLEY – I used dried parsley. You can add fresh parsley before or after baking.

Serving Suggestions
- PAIR WITH VEGGIES – Serve with carrot sticks and celery sticks for a refreshing crunch.
- DRIZZLE EXTRA SAUCE – Add more buffalo sauce or ranch for added flavor.
- COMPLEMENTARY SIDES – Pair with a cucumber salad or coleslaw to balance the richness.
Planning and Leftovers
MAKE AHEAD - I generally don't recommend preparing them ahead. If you want to cut down on prep time the day of, prepare all the ingredients a day in advance but stop before assembling the sliders.
STORE: To store leftovers, place the sliders in an airtight container and keep them in the refrigerator. They'll stay good for up to 3 days.
FREEZE: You can freeze these sliders. Wrap each slider individually in plastic wrap and then put them in a freezer-safe bag. They'll last in the freezer for about a month.
REHEAT: To reheat, thaw them if frozen, and then warm them in the oven at 350º Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes or until they're heated through. This method helps retain their texture and flavor.
Recipe Success Tips
- PROPER CHICKEN PREPARATION – Ensure the chicken is well-shredded and evenly coated with Buffalo sauce for a consistent flavor in every bite.
- BALANCE THE SAUCES – Finding the right balance between Buffalo sauce and Ranch dressing is key. Adjust according to your taste preference for a spicier or milder flavor.
- CHEESE QUALITY MATTERS – Use freshly grated Mozzarella and quality Blue Cheese for the best melt and flavor.
- DON'T OVERBAKE – Keep an eye on the sliders while they're in the oven to prevent them from drying out. They should be baked just until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- SERVE IMMEDIATELY – For the best experience, serve these sliders hot and fresh out of the oven when they're at their most flavorful, and the bread is perfectly toasty.
