Ingredient Notes
Please check the recipe card below for a detailed, printable ingredient list.
OREOS – We used double-stuffed Oreos to make it easier to insert the candy stick into the cream filling. That classic Oreo flavor is the perfect base. If you are using regular-filled Oreos, you may have to decrease the dimension of the stick you are using.
CANDY MELTS – For this recipe, we chose white candy melts. They melt down smoothly and are great for dipping the Oreos. The white chocolate provides a creamy coating and “glue” for the decorations.
SPRINKLES – Adding these cute little unicorn sprinkles gives the Oreo pops their whimsical look. Look for horn shapes in bright colors, candy eyeballs for an extra adorable touch, and pastel or rainbow sprinkles to create the unicorn’s mane.
CANDY STICKS – Lollipop sticks or cake pop sticks make the pops easy to hold and display. Look for thicker candy sticks that can support the weight.
How To Make Unicorn Oreo Pops
Please check the printable recipe card below for more detailed instructions.
- MELT CHOCOLATE – Microwave candy melts in 30-second intervals in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until melted, about 5-7 minutes.
- PREPARE OREOS – Dip a candy stick ½ inch into the melted chocolate, then insert it into the Oreo cream filling center. Let it harden for 3 minutes.
- COAT OREOS – Use the stick to fully submerge the Oreo in melted chocolate. Tap off excess and place on parchment paper. Transfer the remaining chocolate to a piping bag.
- DECORATE – After 5-7 minutes, pipe chocolate on the top center of the Oreo and attach a unicorn horn sprinkle. Pipe sprinkles around the horn and down one side for the mane. Attach two candy eyeballs below the horn.
- SET – Let the decorated Oreo pops set for 10 minutes before enjoying.
Planning and Leftovers
MAKE AHEAD – These are great for making a day or two in advance! Prepare the pops through step 6, allowing to fully set. Store at room temperature in an airtight container between layers of parchment or wax paper until ready to serve.
STORE – Store leftovers in individual baggies or an airtight container. If layering, place some parchment paper between each layer so that you don’t have color transfer from the sprinkles. Avoid refrigerating, as condensation can make the decorations bleed.
FREEZE – You can freeze everything except the candy eyeballs for up to 3 months. The eyes run when exposed to moisture. If you plan on freezing them, don’t add the eyes until you are ready to serve them. Freeze them in individual baggies or in an air tight container. If layering, place some parchment paper between each layer so that you don’t have color transfer from the sprinkles.
Serving Suggestions
DESSERT TABLE – Display them on a platter or cake stand for a birthday party dessert table.
PARTY FAVORS – Package a few in a clear plastic bag or box for party favors.
BOUQUET – Arrange them in a bouquet as an adorable centerpiece.
EDIBLE GIFTS – Wrap individually and tie with ribbons to give as gifts or treats.
CAKE TOPPER – Use as cake or cupcake toppers for a unicorn-themed birthday party.
Recipe Success Tips
DOUBLE STUFFED OREOS – The extra creme filling makes it easier to insert the candy stick securely in the center without it breaking through.
PIPING BAG – Transferring the melted chocolate to a piping bag gives you more control for neat decorating.
WORK QUICKLY – The chocolate starts to set after 5-7 minutes. Have sprinkles and decorations ready to go. If you find that your chocolate is hardening in the piping bag, place the bag in hot water to warm it up.
PARCHMENT PAPER – Lining your work surface with parchment prevents sticking as the chocolate sets.
ADD EYES LAST – The candy eyeballs can bleed color if exposed to moisture. Add right before serving.

Unicorn Oreo Pops
Ingredients
- 32 double-stuffed Oreos
- 2 cups candy melts white
- 32 unicorn horn-shaped sprinkles
- 64 candy eyeballs
- pastel sprinkles assorted colorful and
- 32 candy sticks
Instructions
- Place the candy melt in a microwave-safe dish in 30-second intervals, stirring in between. The time it takes really depends on your microwave, but it should take between 5 and 7 minutes.
- Dip one end of your candy stick into the chocolate about ½-inch deep. Immediately wedge the chocolate end into the middle of the cookie cream between the two wafers. Let sit and harden for 3 minutes.
- Once the stick is secure, dip the cookie into the melted chocolate. Lightly tap the stick on the side of the bowl to shake any excess chocolate. Place on a piece of parchment paper to set and harden.
- Transfer the remaining melted chocolate to a piping bag. After 5-7 minutes, the cookies should be ready to handle. Use a piping bag to dab a little bit of chocolate near the top middle of the cookie and attach the horn sprinkle.
- Use the piping bag to attach sprinkles around the horn and halfway down one side of the cookie. This is the mane of your unicorn. Any sprinkles will do, but I find rainbow-coloured ones are always the most fun.
- Attach two candy eyeballs directly in the middle of the cookie below the horn. Let stand for 10 minutes just to fully set then enjoy!
