Crockpot Steak Bites are tender, bite-sized pieces of seared steak slow-cooked in a rich au jus sauce with sweet onions. A package of au jus mix builds the flavor with almost no effort, so you get a steakhouse-style dinner with about 20 minutes of hands-on work.
Place the sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker to make a bed for the steak.
Pat the steak dry, then season it all over with the salt and pepper.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak in batches until browned on all sides. Transfer it to the slow cooker, on top of the onions.
In the same skillet, add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and au jus mix. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring, until the sauce is combined.
Pour the sauce over the steak and top with the butter pats.
Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, until the steak is fork-tender.
Once cooked, you can gently stir the steak bites to bring everything together in the sauce.
Serve hot with the sauce and onions. Garnish with parsley if you like.
