Mix the Teriyaki sauce and brown sugar in a large bowl, add the chickenand toss until every piece is well coated.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Transfer the marinated chicken pieces to the air fryer basket, arranging them in a single layer to ensure even cooking.
Air fry the chicken at 400° Fahrenheit until they begin to turn golden brown. This takes about 10-15 minutes, depending on the size of the chicken pieces (see notes for additional information)
Pour the flavorful teriyaki sauce into a saucepan and cook it over medium-high heat until it reduces to your preferred thickness.
Transfer to a serving plate, and then sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the chicken for garnish.
Notes
COOKING TIMES:
Marinating Times are not included in the total cook time.
I recommend marinating the chicken for 30 minutes. But you can also marinate it overnight.
Air Fryer Times vary between different models and the sizes of the cut chicken pieces. I own a Vortex and a Ninja Air Fryer Oven. The recommended time is 10-15 minutes; in my Ninja Oven, it took 10 minutes for the chicken to be fully cooked.
Always use a meat thermometer when handling chicken. No matter how you prepare it, the internal temperature must always be 165º Fahrenheit.
