Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350° Fahrenheit.
  • Combine the all-purpose flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Grate the cold butter directly into the flour mixture using a box grater, and then gently mix them until the butter is well distributed.
  • Pour in the buttermilk gradually, stirring the mixture as you go. Mix the dough just until it comes together; avoid overmixing to keep your biscuits tender.
  • Place the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently knead it to form a cohesive ball. Pat or roll the dough to a thickness of about 1 inch, then fold it over onto itself. Repeat this process 2-3 times to create layers.
  • Using a biscuit cutter, pastry cutter, or a round glass, cut biscuits from the 1-inch laminated dough and place them on a parchment paper-lined baking tray.
  • Spray your air fryer basket with cooking spray, then place the biscuits inside in a single layer, ensuring they are not too close to each other. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you might need to cook them in batches.
  • Air fry the cut biscuits at 350° Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes of cook time or until they are golden brown on top. Cooking times might vary, so watch them towards the end.
  • Once your fluffy biscuits are done, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for 2-3 minutes. Brush the outside of the biscuits with melted butter and then serve them warm with butter, jam, fresh fruit, or your favorite toppings.
