This easy crumbly, flavorful cookie recipe is perfect with a hot cup of coffee or tea.
Servings 20 cookies
Preheat the oven 350° Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or Silpat.
Combine ⅓ cup of powdered sugar, butter, and spice mix in a large bowl. Blend until the mixture is creamy.
Add flour and blend the dough begins to turn into large clumps.
Remove the dough from the bowl. Use your hands and form little dough balls. Place the dough balls onto the baking sheet.
Bake the cookies for 20 minutes at 350° Fahrenheit.
Remove the chai spiced cookies from the oven. Allow cookies to cool for a couple of minutes. Dust with remaining powdered sugar.
Stand Mixer or Hand Mixer
I used a stand mixer for this recipe. If you don't have one use a hand mixer.
I like to dust the top of the cookies.
If you prefer you can also roll the cookies in powdered sugar. In this case, allow the cookies to cool for a couple of minutes until they are still warm but cool enough to touch.
Sift the powdered sugar into a shallow bowl and roll the cookies until they are completely covered in powder sugar. Shake off the excess sugar.
Move cookies onto a cooling rack to allow the powdered sugar to dry and stick to the cookie.
I try to provide as accurate a calorie count as possible, but with a recipe like this one, it can't quite be done. I'll often just dust the top with powdered sugar to reduce the sweetness and thus the calorie count, but if you like a sweeter cookie, you'd roll the cookie in the powdered sugar. I've estimated the higher calorie count.
